So, just to kick this thing off, what do you guys think of the film? What are your first impressions, how do you think the film will be later on, what do you want to see in the film, that sort of thing.

I like the idea a lot. Finally a way to see Gustafs story without having to watch the minish cap opening. It'll be quite good i'm sure. ;D

I Think it's Great!
It's an Original Idea rather that copying or doing a spoof of OOT
Can't wait ^_^

Excellent. Wel;l since all yer's absence I've mastered CGI, and just this evening I TOTALLY MASTERED shadows so now they look reasonably realistic. Hooray.

My honest first-impressions (+ additions to recent posts from other users in the forum, which I agree with) and what I dream of seeing in the movie.. Don't take it wrong, it's just my way of thinking; Comparing with "professional-level" movies: -CGI animation (www.zeldamovie.co.uk/userimages/armyimagething.JPG).Characters don't "melt" into the picture.. They look un-natural to their environments. If you take a look at the feet's of the boars for example. Also noticing the boar-models are the same. Twin-boars?
Bulbin being washed out is also mentioned, though everything, even the real-background, looks blurred out. Last point: CGI looks like paper figures cut out and pasted onto the picture. Why all the advertisement talk and fan-stuff?Not saying this for certain, just what I've got the impression of as a newly joined member.
You guys are spending way too much time on making new advertisement pictures to use on forums and web pages, logos and stuff. I've seen lots of discussion of how to get more members, to spread the word... But here's the thing: Do you really have anything to advertise about yet?
You haven't began filming. The script isn't done yet. Not all the props are ready. The costume is under production.
From experience: Don't bother about advertising yet. Wait until you're closing up to the finish. For all you know, the whole thing may be canceled before you get to finish. If it is as you've mentioned, that it may take a couple of years to finish it, it's an awful long time to wait for a fan-film. And a couple of years is a long time, you probably will encounter new problems during the trip, so the movie will be postponed even longer, or eventually canceled.. I mean, you may get to college, or marry and get kids so you need to spend more time there. I don't know, I'm not aware of your ages.
So focus on making the movie, writing the scripts, making the props and all. Just try to imagine how far you could have been now if you'd spend less time on discussing why your website isn't on google, and more time on discussing flaws in the script and stuff. How good the CGI looks ain't necessary.. Yet. You can't make the roof before you've made the walls, and you can't make the walls before the floor is set. So I suggest you start making the floor of the movie. Conclusion of my point: Don't put a lot of energy planning something if you don't know how to get there yet. Do the planning of how to get there instead."So, just to kick this thing off, what do you guys think of the film?"
Sorry, what? I thought it was under pre-production? How can I have thoughts of it when no one has seen it yet? How do you think the film will be later on?Can be amazing, can be OK, can fail miserably. It all depends on the work you put to it. Though I really do look forward to watch it ;DWhat I want to see in the film:-Interesting characters. -An in-depth story of what happened before the first Zelda games I played. -How Hyrule became what it is later on. -Appearance of good old friends from the games.. Gorons, fairies, bats, Sheiks, Zora-people, etc... Suggestions: -FIRST OFF:
Quote from Silverdragon7: "What you're doing here is more like a classroom project then a Blob Films Production, because you're letting the people decide what they want you to do in this movie, so it's not really yours."
Be a bit independent. Make decisions for yourself too. You're the maker of the movie, I'm just a random visitor with my personal thoughts/suggestions, which doesn't mean I'm necessarily right about everything I'm saying.
I am aware of your replies to Silverdragon7, and I know you are just considering it as opinions. I'm just mentioning it
-Make the characters interesting. Give them their own characteristics. Dialects, humor, way of walking, anything! Background stories... Anything to make them more "interesting" while watching.
-Make sure actors always have something to do in picture. Ever seen a movie where the background characters just stand there doing nothing? Looks very unrealistic and unnatural.
-Script always overpower visual effects. I have a friend whom loves visual effects and wants as many explosions in a movie as possible. I try to tell him he gotta have a good reason for the explosions to appear. Focus on script. When that's perfectly polished, you can start worrying about how green Link's suit is.
Movie with bad script is worse than a movie with bad animations. A movie is best with perfect of both.
Tired of writing now... That's my few cents for today. Oh, and will the Deku appear? Or the flower-monsters thingy that you always have to fight in the games? -.-
-TG.

Composer, thats more or less the line iv been trying to take with this project, with the script currently taking priority over anything else im currently doing, but i think it does appear as though we're spending more time on everything else rather than the initial things. I think that this is partly due to everyone getting easily excited by the prospect of it all (i know doomdragon gets like that, theres been a few events where i'v mentioned that we might need a certain prop, only to find that the next time i meet him that he's gone all out and made one), and the fact that some members on here want to contribute to the project, yet don't have anything that they can actually do for the film. As such, i think a few of us have been trying to get a few images and things together that they can use in images or something. However, i am fully aware that neither of those things benefit the film in very many ways looking at the stage that the project is at now, and the script is indeed my main priority. And to be honest, it doesn't hurt for doomdragon to be trying to solve some of the other problems that we'll face later on now (costume, cast, sets, props, etc) especially considering that there isn't very much else for him to do at the moment, bering in mind that i'm writting the script by myself (obviously iv had discussions regarding it with him, but it's too impractical to split the job between us as things currently stand). And as for Deku's... well, im not intendig for them to have a major part, but ill definatly try and include them somewhere. I mean, theres plenty of scenes in forests throughout the film, it wouldn't be too hard...
